Rwanda's Tech Boom and its Allure for Attackers

Rwanda has positioned itself as a regional tech hub in Africa. Kigali has many initiatives fostering tech startups and innovation centers, which is a prime example. This rapid digitalization attracts not only legitimate businesses but also malicious actors.

Cybercriminals often target countries with growing digital economies, viewing them as fertile grounds for exploiting vulnerabilities in new and developing systems. Unfamiliarity with cybersecurity best practices and a lack of robust defense mechanisms can leave these systems ripe for attack.
